Project 10 : Final Presentation, 152 Transformation to Shut Down

Mindshapes: XZbitRUS101 & RUS101 2009/2010

152 TRANSFORMATION TO SHUT DOWN

This is the most interesting project among the 10 project,

Mr Wan need us to present ourself on how RUS101 transform us during the whole sem,

this presentation is playing nonstop which was the slides are continuously play.

Each of everyone have to present ourself according how you display the slide and only allow 30 seconds!!!

the key is

"you are the slide and the slide is you"

In relation with the XZbit RUS101 theme,

"MINDSHAPE"

As a university, our purpose is not to promote manpower for the current job market but to shape minds for the future."

In between the SHUT DOWN ceremony,

there are fews awards to credit the students.

As all of us have been finish presented our 30 seconds presentation,

means while,

RUS101 has been shut down.

Project 9B : Group Presentation

A group presentation entitled,

"Interpretations"

has been presented during the Exhibit09 ceremony.

This presentation is to present the usefulness or/and uselessness of Studio Project 1 to 8 of each group members..

This interpretations could let us and lecture know where the problem and advantages is...

thus could enhance this program for the next batch...

Project 9A : Mounting An Exhibition

This project is lead by THRusli,

he explain and giving introduce on how to mounting an exhibition using BOXES.

5 best assignment will be display on the boxes surface in A4 size which is laminated,

a group made out of 15 will together present the exhibition based on different arrangement of boxes in E48A...

First of all,

each of everyone have to prepare the 5 best assignment images,

then we have to decide how to arrange the boxes position,

as THRusli said,

the better way to present the boxes,

is make it visually clean, tidy, and not messy.

Thus, we have chosen the suitable site that suit to our boxes arrangement,

due to our site is not enough of spaces to display the boxes,

so, we decided hang some of the boxes up on the ceiling and some in front the aluminium bar.

Project 8 : Constructing for real, One Malaysia Community Construction

A trip going to Balik Pulau really an unforgettable moment for me..This trip is handed by Sr. Zahry,

and leads by Faiz.

Our aim is

"To design and produce for community (outdoor) living."

Theme,

"Turning Things Around"

Product,

"Recreation and Significance Landmarks"

This trip took 3 days 2 nights,

during the days in Balik Pulau,

different groups has formed to finish different task,

for me,

I've involved at painting the outdoor wall,

turn dull wall into a attractive wall..

it was really really really hot during the task carry on...

till i've over tanned skin "sun burn",

For this project,

Sr. Zahry has teach us how to carry different task in the same time and different phases,

as the build environment practice right now...

Besides that,

Mr Seng,

the upcoming Head of the Local JKKR,

was so kind and friendly to us,

he prepare

tools,

equipment,

transportation, and

moon cake for us.

He also bring us have a look of the fire flies besides the river in the wet land area.

It was really a exciting "Hunting Fire Flies" in the dark night,

and,

Mr Seng was given some introduction about the Fire Fly.

Project 7 : Bamboo Break

Most of them has back to their hometown to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri and having holiday..

but me,

stay for a whole week inside campus.

In relation with the,

Project 8 : One Malaysia Community Construction,

this project was purposely to let us understand the Bam

boo itself characteristic and the its purpose as a Bamboo.

Bamboo is widely use in Asia,

they use it for,

construction,

building structure,

handy craft,

decoration purposes,

and even cooking.

Bamboo not only strong in tension, and having the elastic character,

besides that,

bamboo is low in cost and sustainable consumption.

That's why people using people or such usages that i mention above.

Back to this project,

Mr Wan want us to create a 1 meter cubic of bamboo cube.

Joints and tie knots have to consider,

because different joints and tie knots have different purposes to specific situation.

During 101 Potluck Bamboo Do,

Mr Wan has given a short conduct an impromptu to,

"From Lego Pieces to Lego Land"

After that,

he with others studio master started examining all the bamboo cubes,

out of our expect,

none of the bamboo cubes were pass due to the created bamboo cubes weren't meet the requirement,

and some of the bamboo cubes has been destroyed by Mr Wan.

so sad.......

huhuhu..

Project 6 : An Urban Plan

With the awarded APEX to our university,

our school decided to propose an urban plan to university as a contribution to upgrade our university performance.

A group made up with 6 different majors,

and headed by an Urban Planner..

we have chosen site number 12,

which we have to make use of the land to and develop a Communications Centre for not only for School of HBP and also in co-operate with others school,

in relation to create a strong linkage between schools.

Path,

nodes,

building function,

main entrance,

and the design,

are the main details we need to consider..

Thus we have come out a simple and yet compact information,

on both A3 size hard copy and soft copy,

to present to Mr WB.

As Mr Wan said, "things are always change and uncertainty, you have to keep alert to meet different situation"...

so, before the due date,

changes happened,

and we have to do it again and changed the format that Mr Wan mention....

Luckily, our urban plan lastly submitted...

Hope all of the proposal done by us could meet the requirement,

and meet the APEX standard...

Project 5B : Merdeka Object Installation - USM Balloonmen Merdeka Show

Youth Jam 09

Youth Jam was the largest Youth Event in Penang which held in Penang Times Square on

30th Aug 09.

As a i mentioned before, this is made by Youth and for Youth...

USM HBP has took part in this event in realeasing balloons to the sky on 2400 sharp..

where as before the time being, we all HBP student have reached the site around the evening to do the preparation works...

Some of us pumping the balloons, while some were tighten the balloons then group all together to form a shape floating in the sky.

all of us were taking each posstion right around 2350 to make sure the balloons released as what we expected...

Through this project, i have interactwith public on dealing applying this project.

By the way, it was a great challenge to do such a big event...

"Learn from nothing, and there is something in nothing"

Project 5A : Merdeka Obeject Installation - HBP Balloonmen

In this project,

RUS 101 has involve in the Merdeka Youth Jam celebration in Penang Times Square..

Mr Wan has co-operate with the organizer, JAZZ, a student of KDU with only 19 years old, come meeting with us to briefly describe what is the Youth Jam about.

Her works and the process to run this such big event was really impressd me.

So,

before going further,

We have to made up a group of five to present a costume parade..

which was,

the costume parade must consist of sarong and balloon.

My team has come up a concept which was representing Malaysian passionate, royalty, multiracial in serving to our lovely country just like a never-end sunshine.

Project 4B : Analysis of George Town Spaces

GEORGE TOWN GET-AWAY

During the mid term break,

i went to a 4 days 3 nights job at Bay View Hotel under the Project Warga hosted by USM which is a programme that training for trainee teacher....

Here is the oppurturnity to do my assignment...

Bay View Hotel is located strategically in George Town so e

nable me to explore the UNESCO World Heritage Site....

I started my "journey" from Lebuh Pantai..

Lebuh Pantai situated several of Bank like AM bank, Standarnt Chartered, Public Bank...

Starndard Chartered bank was one of the remarkable building in George Town..

After Lebuh Pantai, i was in somewhere around Lebuh Acheh and Lebuh Armenian..

this two Lebuh are the Lebuh that i love most in George Town..

because of its small space between the street created,

a moment,

a tiny world,

different tone of each shoplot, houses...

these Lebuh had drag me into its spaces make me fall into the scene strongly...

For your infomation, Lebuh Acheh and Lebuh Armenian aslo known as an Art Gallery in George Town....there have several art gallery seeling each different style of painting and master pieces..

After Lebuh Acheh and Lebuh Armenian,

i kept walking with all my sweat and leads no way in order not

to arrive to a destination..

then i reached Lebuh Chulia and Lebuh Campbell..

These Lebuh located many shops that selling basic needs like clothes, watches and etc.

You really have no idea how far i have walk around the George Town...

After Lebuh Chulia and Lebuh Campbell...

i get to the Padang Kota Lama,

where the Penang Town Hall and City hall situated right beside the Padang Kota Lama..

among that area,

the Penang High Court and The Oldest Anglican Church, St. George Church located just a walk distance nearby...

After the whole day kept walking non stop for aproximately 6 hours...
